Mobile Phones a Threat to Email Marketing

The emergence of web supporting mobile phones have rendered a red signal to email marketing. Online Marketers who used HTML emails to conduct their direct marketing process are now having a hard time removing the addresses of mobile email users and traditional computer email receivers.

This division and separation of email addresses is important in order to make sure that the emails that are being sent are read by the users. These promotional emails are generally created in the HTML formats, which is not supported by most mobile phones generally. The mobile emails generally show text messages only, whereby, the HTML mails fired by the email marketers go unnoticed.

In order to make sure that the mails these marketers are sending, are being read by their receivers, the marketers need to design their mails in text also, so that the receivers can atleast read their mails. This technique will definitely have a drawback. The email marketing trend will go back to its traditional form, but the positive part of the game is that, the mails will be read immediately by the readers as they will have easy access to the web, which might also increase the number of hits on the concerned website.

The marketers will now have to concentrate more on the content of the website, ensuring that the content is short. Crisp, interesting and to the point, Headlines become more essential in such cases. Marketers will now have to pay more attention towards headlines so that the receivers find it interesting and relevant and generate clicks on them.

Target Oriented- The First Mantra of Email Marketing

Every morning when you open your inbox, how many mails do you generally receive? Five, ten, fifteen or fifty? Whatever be the number of emails you receive everyday, that is not my concern. I want to figure out, how many of those mails are your personal I mean really Personal coming from friends, family or official. And approximately how many of them are personal yet not personal? Strange question, right? Well, lets not play with words too long, I am sure, if not me you definitely have better things to do.

What I intend to ask is how many emails marketing campaigns on an average do your receive everyday. I am sure the counts must be running higher than the so called 'personal' mails that you receive. Why do you think you receive these emails. Well obviously because you asked for them. Email campaigns run on opt- in lists, where you provide the marketer with your email address and approve them to send to emails.

That is all fine, but wondering how these people know that you are a fashion freak, or are interested in car races and affiliate marketing in business. Well guys they are definitely no genie. Remember the form which you had filled while you had visited their site. It was that that you had mentioned aout your liking for cars, fashion and affiliate marketing. This is what they call targeted email marketing.

Targeted email marketing is a technique wherein the website owner is aware of your likes and dislikes and sends you stuffs that you are most likely to use or buy. This is called target oriented direct email marketing technique.

Useful Email Marketing Tips To help Your Business Grow

An email marketing campaign begins right from the opt-in list that you are creating for your campaign. The form that you get filled from your clients should not be too lengthy. It should rather be to the point and should focus on only gathering required knowledge about your client. Many websites create unnecessarily long forms which ask hundreds of unwanted questions. Cut the crap guys! Get to the point.

The same applies to your email subject line too. Do not go round and round the mulberry bush!be sensitive, be smart and approach in a more focused and honest manner. Short and crisp subject lines are more likely to be clicked than lines that are as long as a mail itself. Honestly. Who on earth has so much time and patience to read an email subject line a SUBJECT LINE! Gimme a break guys.

I sometimes really wonder, how many of the designers keep the reader in mind while they are creating an email newsletter. Gawd! Some of the newsletters I receive are so shabby. No story, no expression, no synchronization, just a chunk of words and a bunch of images that too dead. What you need to understand is that you are using the newsletters as your tool to attract visitors into your site. They are a window to your site. Keep it open, lively and airy.

The information that you provide through your email marketing campaign should be such that it lures your readers into your site. Keep your sentences short and meaningful. Do not forget to add a bit of life to your email with synchronized pictures. Pictures add a lot of meaning to your mails, but remember to add in alt text to your images as many email subscribers do not show pictures. Let your effort not go in vain.

To avoid your newsletter from being spammed, make sure that you do not use words like Free, Order Now, Today, Hurry etc. cliched right! And thats why they are SPAMMED.

Email Marketing has a lot of potential, they can increase your website traffic and leads to a great extent, just that you need to be a little selective and choosy about your campaign.

The Progress of Email Marketing Today

Email Marketing is on the ladders, but its rise is not as speedy as it was expected. A recent report by ROI confirmed that the opt-in email marketing methods are use by almost 31% of email marketers. This indeed is a great sign as it marks the growth of the industry, but the fact is that the growth is not as remarkable as it should have been.

The report suggests that that the number has grown but it is not as big as it was predicted to grow a few years ago. The reason for this lack in the growth of email marketing can be pointed towards the less usage of Opt-in email listing. If website owners would have been making use of the confirmed or permission based email lists, this number would probably have been double than what it is today.

The lack of communication between the marketers and the subscribers is another reason why this fall is being prompted. And this is also the reason why most of the subscribers unsubscribe from the mailing option after some time.

Suggestion to the marketers is to diversify their channels. Meaning, look for different channels as well, through which you can keep your subscriber in loop along with mailing them. The first thing is to make sure that you are sending them the first confirmation email which they wish to see from you once they have subscribed to ayour account. This will put across the message to them, that they are important and you are at their service always. Next, check your auto responder and see if all the queries are working fine, so that you do not miss a chance to reply back to them.

Once you are through with all of these, get set with your email marketing and corresponding programs and take your Online business to new heights.
